Emmett Yawners was a Deputy for the Banshee County Sheriff's Department in the town of Banshee, Pennsylvania. He was a college football player at Penn St..[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Emmett Yawners was a deeply dedicated deputy sheriff who was once a standout running back at Penn State. After college he met and married a white woman named Meg. He decided to become a police officer because he wanted to make sure that everyone was safe and treated equally in the name of the law like his father who had to endure racism and injustice in the past.

Emmett was always trying to do the right thing and be a "Good Christian" despite dealing with crime, corruption and racism in Banshee. Still Emmett always followed the rules and stayed calm in dangerous situations. His tall and muscular physique also helped him in fighting crime and he could easily handle himself against physically imposing criminals.

He had a good working relationship with Brock and Siobhan. When Hood became the Sheriff of Banshee Emmett followed his orders without question although he would always point out whenever Hood was breaking the rules. Nonetheless Emmett saw that Hood was actually a good man despite not following protocol.

Emmett was a major character of the first and second seasons. He is played by starring cast member Demetrius Grosse.
